Ms Blumczynska was the Vice-President of the CCR for the past two years and is the Executive Director of the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba Inc. (IRCOM) in Winnipeg. Aleks Dughman-Manzur was elected Vice-President, representing the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto.
“I am honoured to lead the Canadian Council for Refugees in its critical work of saving lives, protecting human rights, and restoring dignity,” said Dorota Blumczynska, CCR President.
Ms Blumczynska takes over from Claire Roque, who served as President from the end of 2017, and will continue on the Executive as Past President.
