Help CCR Youth Gather and Take Action!

9 January 2012

Dear members, friends and partners of the CCR,

I would like to invite you to consider a special donation to help youth from across Canada participate in the FIRST National CCR Youth Action Gathering.

I know many of you have, like me, been excited to see youth stepping forward and contributing creatively to the CCR in the last few years. Here is an opportunity to show some concrete support so that the Youth Network can be even stronger.

Our target: $6,000

What’s it for? To cover 50% of the cost of bringing 20 youth leaders to Montreal (transportation and accommodation). The youth will fundraise the other 50%.

About the Youth Action Gathering: From 31 August to 2 September 2012, newcomer youth advocates from across Canada will be heading to Montreal for the first CCR Youth Action Gathering on the theme of “Engaging Newcomer Youth in Participatory Media for Social Change.” Newcomer youth, youth settlement workers and their allies will acquire knowledge and skills in a series of action-oriented workshops, and most importantly, foster relationships of solidarity with those working on the same issues across Canada, and bring home with them an empowered sense of their ability to inspire change in their communities.
