Voices of Resistance: Shaping the Future of Migrant Workers

Organized by the CCR’s Precarious and Exploited Migrants Committee, the Forum focuses on “Voices of Resistance: Shaping the Future of Migrant Workers.” It provides a platform for migrant workers, CCR members, and grassroots organizations to strategize, organize, and advance advocacy priorities with the Canadian government and decision-makers, while enhancing the knowledge and expertise of migrant workers, activists, front-line workers, and advocates.

Across the country, migrant workers face growing challenges – unsafe conditions, unfair policies, and threats to dignity and rights – yet are rising with courage and determination. The Forum will shine a light on how workers are organizing, resisting, and building solidarity; center migrant-worker voices and leadership; examine systemic forces driving exploitation; and share struggles and victories.

This is a space for action: participants will identify concrete advocacy priorities, strengthen national and provincial strategies, and expose exploitative practices demanding urgent change – advancing open work permits, stronger protections, and pathways to permanent residency.

The goal is clear: to leave with a shared resolution and tangible next steps for coordinated action.

The Forum takes place before the CCR 2025 Consultation for people interested in participating in both.
