The CCR is offering funding to assist refugees in participating in the CCR Fall 2023 Consultation (16-18 November, Calgary, AB). Consultation details are available at https://ccrweb.ca/en/meetings/fall-2023-consultation
What is covered by the Amina Malko Fund
The funding will cover air/bus/train fare to Toronto and accommodation.
What is NOT covered by the Amina Malko Fund
Costs such as food and local ground transportation need to be covered by the supporting organization.
Applicants must:
- Have lived experience as a refugee.
- Be supported by a CCR member organization.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Submit the completed application form below (along with a letter of engagement from the organization) by Thursday, September 21, 2023.
- Ability to contribute to the CCR (this will be the main criterion)
- Evidence of an ongoing commitment to participation in the CCR
- Financial need
- Gender balance
- Ethnic diversity
- Gaps in representation within the CCR (e.g. a particular community or region that is not at present active within the CCR)
- Promotion of youth participation
Please circulate this information to people and organizations (CCR members only) that might be interested in applying.
Please note that you must submit a letter from your organization confirming that they support your participation and will cover expenses not covered by the CCR. The letter should also state what they see as the benefits of your attending the CCR.
