Unfortunately, due to capacity, we are no longer able to accept registrations, and no registration will be possible on-site at the conference.

Registration process

Please only start the registration process when you are ready to pay the fees (or have been approved for an exemption). If you are applying for a travel subsidy, please wait until the subsidy has been approved before you register. 

Registration fees

Fees paid by 7 May benefit from a reduction.

Fees also vary depending on whether the participant is:

  • A representative of a CCR member
  • A representative of an NGO*
  • Other

* If you are with a non-governmental organization in Canada or you are an unaffiliated individual living in Canada, consider joining the CCR. Submit a complete membership application and your Conference registration by 7 May to receive member registration rates.

Options to contribute financially to the conference

To help cover costs, including providing travel subsidies for participants from the Global South, we invite organizations to consider:

Display tables

To reserve a display table at the CCR Conference, please check the appropriate box on the registration form and include payment for your display table reservation with your Conference registration. For more information on display tables, please click here.

Payment options

  1. Cheques: Cheques will only be accepted if they are drawn on a Canadian bank.
  2. Credit cards: We accept VISA, VISA Debit and MasterCard.
  3. Other payment options:
    1. Direct deposit - Used for large payments
    2. Money Transfers via Western Union - Used for international participants who are unable to pay via credit card.

If option 3 is selected, someone from the CCR office will contact you with more information on how to make the transfer of funds.

Group registrations

Please note that although every participant must be registered individually, they may make one lump sum payment for all participants coming from the same organization. To pay one lump sum payment for all participants, indicate the total amount to be paid in the first delegate’s registration under “Total fees”. In one of the comments boxes, indicate the names of the participants for whom the first delegate is making the payment. Proceed with making the payment (cheque, credit card, or other payment option (see above)).

Cancelling a registration

For Canadian participants, there will be a $20 charge for reimbursement up until 25 May 2018 and no reimbursements thereafter. For international participants, there will be a $25 charge for reimbursement up until 6 June 2018 and no reimbursement thereafter.

Invitation letters for international participants

Please note that, effective immediately, due to the fact that there is little time left to apply for travel visas to attend the International Refugee Rights Conference, letters of invitation will no longer be provided to international participants by the Canadian Council for Refugees.

Social events

Thursday evening, 7 June

On-site reception at York University. More information to come. No cost to attend.

Friday evening, 8 June

The Toronto Local Organizing Committee invites you to a social event with entertainment and dinner to celebrate the CCR's 40th anniversary and to connect with other conference participants. The event will begin at 7pm and a communal iftar dinner will be served at 9pm to coincide with those observing Ramadan.

Tickets are $20, and must be purchased in advance through the registration form.


During the conference we may be able to provide childcare services for conference participants who have signed up by 7 May. Children must be at least 19 months and toilet-trained. Please specify times at which childcare is needed and the age(s) of the children by sending an email to
