‘We Speak Translate’ training webinar: Using Google Translate for newcomer settlement

Description

We Speak Translate logoParticipants became familiar with the We Speak Translate project, which uses Google Translate to establish a common platform for communication between front-line workers and newcomers while they are developing their English language skills. The benefits are far greater: Using the app can bring together newcomers and communities for better integration and inclusion.

The We Speak Translate project is a collaboration between Google Translate and the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) that uses the Google Translate app for refugee resettlement and newcomer inclusion in communities.

Note: Please have a smartphone or tablet (not the one you are using to view the webinar) available for the training with the Google Translate app downloaded. During the webinar, you will be able to follow along on your device as the app is explained.
