The forum will focus on internationally trafficked persons and barriers to services and protection for these populations. The forum will highlight migrant victims who might be in Canada with some form of precarious immigration status such as seasonal workers, international students, and sponsored persons. The event will bring together international experts and national stakeholders from multiple sectors including legal, law enforcement, health and human services. The participants will be engaged in panel discussions and workshops surrounding the services, assistance and laws in place to address the needs of the internationally trafficked persons. Objectives: • Increase awareness of human trafficking issues among organizations and professionals from diverse sectors. • Highlight the existing gaps in services and protection for internationally trafficked persons. • Develop policy recommendations and response strategies to offset the identified gaps. • Foster cooperation among stakeholders which is essential to provide holistic services to assist internationally traffickied persons to move forward.
