Quality of Services Project Coordinator

 

The Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR) is seeking a committed individual for a one year position  to develop support for NGOs who assist people with refugee and immigration processes. The Project Coordinator position will be between 28 - 35 hours a week, as agreed between the project coordinator and the CCR, at $24 per hour.

Principal responsibilities

Working in close collaboration with a project steering committee and other staff, the Project Coordinator will:

  • Manage the project, including timelines and budget
  • Coordinate the project steering committee
  • Consult NGOs on the policies and practices they currently have in place to support good quality services
  • Research best practices and sample policies in relevant other sectors, and systems for tracking, monitoring, and supporting the quality of services offered by NGOs
  • Develop templates of best practices and sample policies andsolicit feedback
  • Prepare a final report

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of, and commitment to, the immigration/refugee NGO sector in Canada
  • Familiarity with NGO policies and practices, as discussed in the proposed framework
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • English/French bilingualism
  • Experience in facilitation, working with committees, and project implementation
  • Time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, social justice and anti-oppression

The person must be based in Canada but can work virtually from anywhere in Canada.
