JOB OFFER: Communications Coordinator

 

The Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR) is seeking candidates for a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) position to support  communications and the promotion efforts of the CCR.

Principal responsibilities

Working in close collaboration with other staff, the person will:

  • Oversee CCR external communications;
  • Oversee the production of CCR resources;
  • Promote CCR resources and events;
  • Provide support for the CCR’s media outreach efforts;
  • Provide support for efforts by CCR and members to promote positive public opinion about refugees and other vulnerable migrants.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in communications or related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, social justice and anti-oppression
  • Fluently bilingual (English/French)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Familiarity with publishing software (Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign) an asset
  • Demonstrated experience with website content management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media content
  • Willingness to work in a small office where staff must be adaptable.
  • Knowledge of CCR / immigration/refugee sector an asset
  • Skills in designing communications resources an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team

Based at the CCR office in Montreal. Salary according to CCR salary scale.

The position may involve some travelling within Canada.
