Applications for refugees

The application consists of three different immigration forms, to be completed by the main refugee applicant and by with their eligible family members. Refugees sponsored to Canada must meet some eligibility and admissibility requirements.

Refugees applying to be sponsored must complete certain immigration forms which are referred to collectively as the IMM 6000 package. This section includes an overview who should complete which immigration forms, as well as resources for completing the forms. 

The principal applicant can include certain family members in their application. This section covers who can be included in the application, as well as what to do if family members who can’t be included wish to be sponsored at the same time. 

Refugees sponsored to Canada must meet some eligibility and admissibility requirements. Eligibility relates to whether the person is a refugee, and admissibility to criminality or other bars.
