10 Nov 2010 Holding refugees in detention centres for extended periods can be costly to Canadian taxpayers as well as the refugees. The Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR) along with several other organizations is calling on parliamentarians to reject Bill C-49, a bill that would be extremely costly both to Canadians and to people seeking refugee protection in Canada.
