Principal Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of CCR Youth Network activities

  • Promotes and supports youth participation within the Canadian Council for Refugees, including in policy discussion and advocacy

  • Develops and supports youth networking online

  • Undertakes fundraising to support CCR Youth Network activities

 Reports to Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights and social justice
  • Demonstrated experience in building effective networks and/or alliances, especially with youth
  • Excellent communication skills (including ability to articulate issues clearly)
  • Bilingual English - French
  • Event organizing experience
  • Awareness of the issues affecting immigrants and refugees and particularly immigrant and refugee youth
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Computer skills, ability to develop and program online resources (or willingness to learn) an asset
  • Fundraising experience an asset
  • University degree

The position is fulltime, 5 days per week, for a three-year contract (contingent upon funding).  Salary is based on the salary scale in effect. Some overtime can be expected, particularly around conferences and other meetings (overtime is not paid, but compensatory time may be taken).

The person will work out of the CCR office in Montreal.
