Principal Responsibilities

  • Promotes and supports youth participation within the Canadian Council for Refugees, including in policy discussion and advocacy
  • Develops and supports youth activities through fundraising efforts
  • Develops and supports youth networking online

Reports to Executive Director

 Qualifications

  • demonstrated commitment to human rights/social justice
  • demonstrated experience in building effective networks and/or alliances, especially with youth
  • excellent communications skills (including ability to articulate issues clearly)
  • excellent spoken and written English
  • French an asset
  • event organizing experience
  • awareness of the issues affecting immigrants and refugees
  • demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • computer skills, ability to develop and program online resources an asset
  • fundraising experience an asset

The position is for 4 days a week, for a two-year contract.  Salary will be approx. $26,000 per year (equivalent to $32-34,000 full-time).

The person may work out of the CCR office in Montreal or elsewhere in Canada, preferably based at a CCR member organization.
