Person responsible for project management and fundraising

The Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR) is seeking candidates for a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) position to support fundraising and to manage projects.

Principal responsibilities

  • Prepare applications for project funding
  • Oversee implementation of specified projects
  • Prepare reports (including financial reports) on funded projects
  • Manage and support all activities to recruit, solicit and sustain donors
  • Manage donor communications
  • Develop, implement, analyze and report on fundraising strategies and work plans
  • Coordinate with organizers of fundraising events

A typical day might include monitoring specific project timelines and budgets, identifying new opportunities for funding, coordinating with other staff to prepare reports and/or applications for funding, and preparing messages for donors about recent CCR work.

All tasks will be carried out in close collaboration and consultation with the small CCR staff team, members, and partners.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights, social justice and anti-oppression.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Good organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to explain complex issues in an accessible way.
  • Fluent in both official languages.
  • Experience in grant and report writing.
  • Comfortable working with website content management systems, or ability to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in a small office where staff must be adaptable.
  • Experience in implementing program/project evaluation an asset.
  • Experience supervising employees an asset.
  • Skills in budget/financial management an asset.
  • Knowledge of immigration, refugee and settlement issues an asset.

Based at the CCR office in Montreal. Reports to the Executive Director. Salary based on experience and according to salary scale.
