JOB OFFER: YOUTH NETWORK NATIONAL COORDINATOR

The CCR is seeking a person to coordinate a national three-year project supporting newcomer youth civic engagement, through the CCR’s Youth Network. The CCR Youth Network is dynamic coalition of newcomer youth (16-25 years old) that voices the concerns of newcomer and vulnerable migrant youth in Canada.

About the job:

  • One year contract initially, with expectation of renewal for two following years;
  • Part-time (25h/week) with possibility of becoming full-time;
  • $ 20/hour (updated yearly according to the salary scale in place);
  • Works from the CCR Office based in Tio'tia:ke (Montreal);
  • Starting date: as soon as possible.

 

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Planning, monitoring and reporting on implementation of all project activities 
  • Planning and implementation of an annual Youth Action Gathering 
  • Supporting the Youth Network Core Group in the process to restructure the Youth Network, create and sustain provincial branches
  • Supporting the Youth Network Core Group in strategic planning and evaluation
  • Developing project resources (toolkits and other visual resources), through a consultative process
  • Supporting the development and promotion of a “Youth Engagement Policy”
  • Communications on the project, including through the website and social media 
  • Management of project budget and collaboration on additional fundraising

 

Qualifications 

  • Awareness of the issues affecting immigrants and refugees and particularly immigrant and refugee youth 
  • Previous involvement with the CCR Youth Network and the CCR an asset 
  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights and social justice 
  • Excellent capacity of mobilizing youth 
  • Demonstrated experience in building effective networks, especially with youth and pan-Canadian
  • Excellent communication skills (including ability to articulate issues clearly) 
  • Preferably bilingual English - French 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills, ability to develop and program online resources (or willingness to learn) an asset
