The human rights Grade 11 and 12 students heard a heart-touching first-hand refugee story Feb. 10 during their class.Muuxi Adam, co-founder of HumanKind International, came to Winnipeg on October 10, 2004 at the age of 16 illegally. He described himself and his family as ‘the poorest of the poor’ in Somalia, Africa – saying there were times he and his family went three to four days without food, that there was no forward thinking and they just focused on how to get by day-by-day.
