The Canadian Council for Refugees is seeking a student for a 7 week contract (full-time) under the Canada Summer Jobs program.  The person hired will work at the CCR office in Montreal.

To be eligible you must:

– be a full-time university student
– intend to continue full-time studies next school year
– be under 30 years of age

Qualifications:

– demonstrated commitment to human rights/social justice
– excellent communication and organizational skills
– understanding of public education work
– initiative and ability to work independently
– bilingualism in English/French
– awareness of issues affecting immigrants and/or refugees an asset

Refugees, immigrants, people of colour, gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans people are encouraged to apply.

The person hired will work in support of the CCR’s 30th anniversary celebrations, an event used to educate the public on refugee and immigrant rights.

The salary rate is minimum wage.
