The CCR is seeking a person on a 10-month contract as partial replacement for a staff person during a leave of absence.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the logistical and administrative aspects of the CCR fall 2009 and spring 2010  conferences and the working group meetings in February 2010.
  • Supports the CCR’s work in the area of settlement and integration, through networking, communication, organizing and research.

The position is for 4 days a week, from 28 September 2009 to end July 2010 (flexibility required for full-time availability during peak times, notably around the fall and spring consultations).

Based in Montreal.  Reports to the Executive Director, under the supervision of the Settlement Policy Director.

  • demonstrated talent for organizing and administration
  • networking skills
  • awareness of the issues affecting immigrants and/or refugees (familiarity with settlement issues an asset)
  • strong problem solving skills
  • demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • excellent communications skills
  • good spoken and written English
  • spoken French (written French an asset)
  • computer skills
  • availability to travel within Canada (3 trips are scheduled)

Salary scale: Per annum rate of $25,000 (equivalent to $31,250 for full time).
